About me

My name is Weizhi SONG (pronounced as “whizz~”), I hold a Master degree on Marine Biology (The First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, Qingdao, China) and a PhD degree on Microbiology and Immunology (University of New South Wales, Australia) (UNSW, QS World University Rankings 2027: 19th). After my graduation, I continued my research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UNSW (2019-2023). Later in 2023, I joined The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (QS Rankings 2027: 33rd) as a Research Assistant Professor to continue my research on Bioinformatics, Phylogenomics, Microbial Ecology, and Animal-Microbe Symbiosis.
